I mostly create new R2 VMs from a sysprepped export. But this will work well for the occasional physical installs.

Thanks a lot!!! We've just done a completely new installation of Windows Server R2 version 6. I just ran Windows Update for the first time and it downloaded a slew of initial updates, then rebooted.
I had Windows Update check for updates again and it installed 2 additional updates without a reboot, listed below:. I had Windows Update check once more, and now it's giving me another 2 updates, one of which is the critical one you describe:. A piece of software we need to use recommended having KB and KB before installing it. However, I checked all the updates which were installed and KB is not listed. Should I attempt to install it first using your method described above, or just go ahead and let Windows Update install those two updates?
Excuse me but I need your help regarding this update. I trying to install it on a Windows Server Datacenter Edition build When I double click on clearcompressionflag. I tried to re-download the file, change the compatibilty mode, unblock the file, run as administrator, turn off DEP, Firewall, disable Ms Defender and none of these solve this situation.
Also cannot install none of other updates showed in the post. Thanks for this, seriously. I don't know why it always has to be a constant struggle with Microsoft and updating.
I started to install IIS on server R2. The install stopped other services and I attempted to remove IIS. It will not remove. Great guide, really useful and well crafted. Although previous steps worked when I try to continue with KB the machine tells me the update is already installed, I then go check the installed updates where I found the previous ones but not KB, KB and KB which all tell me "I am already installed" but don't show up either in the history or in the installed updates.
